This is turning out to be one of those uglier racing weekends. I'm already looking forward to it being over.

Hope he is OK, taking too long to extract the car.

I don't like the fact that they haven't shown a replay....it suggests there is a reason of not showing it

They may not have one

I think they genuinely don't know what his status is at the moment.

I think that it more shows that there /may be/ a reason for not showing it

Very heavy impact to have the car end up lifting the barriers like that. Really hope Carlos is ok.
Speculation that he lost it under braking and hit the wall on the left before continuing on into the barrier.

Does the medical car seem like it has left the site? Might mean Sainz has already been extracted.

And they are keeping the cameras way back, only long shots of the area

The thing that makes me optimistic is that they haven't sent an ambulance to the scene as far as I can see, just the medical car, makes me think he's not in too bad a way.

There is no time to fix the barrier
#34
Posted 10 October 2015 - 09:46
Even if he is perfectly fine, is going to take them ages to fix the barrier so don't read too much into this decision.

Edwards and Palmer are speculating that he may have lost control turning under brakes with the DRS open. Palmer was asked to close the DRS manually before the braking zone when he drove here.
Interesting.

Hopefully it's just taking time to get the barriers off the top of the car.
Ted saying early signs "may" be good news. just taking time to get the barriers away and the correct procedures carried out.

Hopefully, as someone else said, just because they don't know so precautionary not to show anything rather than because they know something negative.

Hopefully that's because it would take ages to fix the barrier rather than to extract Sainz.

It has nothing to do with Sainz health, they don´t have time to fix the track.

I guess this is an issue with low noses, easy to scoop under barriers.
