I have to say that the press conference after the race was one of the best this year.

Let the drivers have a laugh as currently the press conferences are boring.

Seb really gets the ball rolling but the FOM press conference manager threatening to shut down the press conference if the lads didn't stay on topic was ridiculous.

They don't care, they would rather not be there, and the viewers don't really care about bland and boring Q&A.

I was glad that guy was there to threaten to shut it all down, I think people were on the verge of enjoying themselves. Close call.

With seb on the podium there is usually a comedy show in store for after the race. Bernie should love it!

In Singapore Vettel wanted to take the Ferrari flag to the podium/pc and wasnt allowed to. Yesterday theey tried to shut them down. It is a shame and here the media is also failing:nobody reported critically about whatt happened in Singapore and nobody will probably report about what happened yesterday, it is a real shame and one of the reason why F1 is dropping off in the end.

Thumbs up for sharing this

I hadn't see this, either SkyF1 didn't show it or I switched off too soon. Funny stuff, really enjoyed that!

FOM promoting F1 with it now. Omitted is the bit where you can hear drivers being scolded for the same stuff FOM is now celebrating, less than 24 hours later.

All this fun and drivers with personalities has to be clamped down on. It might draw in fans and raise some positive interest to the sport. It's not what Formula 1 is about.

Edit: Seriously though, is that a knife in Sutil's hand? Someone needs to keep all sharp objects away from him.

Haven't watched the interview but it sounds from people's comments sort of like a control freak teacher trying to overly control their students?  Only this isn't a classroom it's a sporting event.  And these aren't students they are the sporting version of superheroes.

There's a lot of emphasis people try to put on news stories, branding, politics or business things.. but in the end (to me) it's about the drivers.  They are the stars of the show, or they should be.  These moments when the drivers are themselves are some of the most valuable enjoyable parts of a whole weekend.  The drivers can't race properly anymore, are told what they can and can't say on the team radio and now can't even have fun in press conferences?

I won't even get into the bit where they are now promoting it as best PC ever.  :well:

Id have loved to see and hear Graham Hill's response to that idiot. Nevertheless, strange that Movistar (Spanish PPV) is able to show this in its entirety whilst Sky show zilch. Brilliant.

When the Beeb used to show them I always enjoyed the post race conferences. The whole podium thing now seems to have persuaded the broadcasters not to bother showing them. Bring them back!

Does it really say "Los ****ing Angeles" on Ricciardo's cap or am I getting old?

Seb is probably the funniest driver I have ever had the pleasure of chatting to, be great if the teams encouraged them to express their personalities more rather than towing the corporate line all the time. I would put DC a close 2nd.

It actually says "Los ****in' Angeles" (obviously I've substituted the 'u' for a '*') on Ricciardo's cap, so yes you are getting old.

You should realise that these ladies are all paid employees of Red Bull - note logo on their left breast.  They don't really like Marc very much, they are just acting.

Whereas Lewis's behatted female admirers.......ah, I just realised that they are all paid employees of Putin apparently. So nothing to see here, carry on,

.

I'm not sure what the FIA dudes problem was. SophieB lets me get away with far worse.

Ironically, I find him the best off track personality since Webber .... yet those two could not get on.

Boys will be boys. And immediately after a race, they feel a need to decompress, or whatever you can label it. But with Formula One being so big-bucks and the pressure to make sponsors happy, drivers have become incredibly boring, and the press conferences duller than a cloudy midnight. I'm a big fan of Indycar and many of the drivers are always up to shenanigans and have huge smiles on their faces.

F1 funniest moments EVER in press conferences! #2

Not sure about funniest press conferences - maybe most awkward would be more accurate - although definitely missing some Mark Webber and his glass slamming :p (I still miss Mark being in F1 )

Ironically, I find him the best off track personality since Webber .... yet those two could not get on.

They possibly would have got on fine away from the environment of a championship battle? (only have to look at Nico and Lewis to see what a strain it put on even a long-term friendship) and they never really had any season when they weren't in a winning position as even 2009 they had one of the best cars.

Man that's some hard work the drivers have to do there.....

Rambling questions.
Would've been really apt to slip in 'I'm sorry I don't understand the question, or, could you repeat the question please, or even, was there a question in there somewhere'.......

Haha - it has been done, One journalist asked possibly the longest question ever (to increasing sniggers from the drivers) to a specific 2 drivers who he had stated at the start of the question (possibly Seb and Fernando?) and at the end of the mammoth question the interviewer person asked him who it was directed too, at which point Seb jumped in and pointed out he had said at the start and the interviewer didn't listen, and then proceeded to ask the journalist to repeat the question. It was funny at the time, probably not now

I wish I knew where you found all these PC clips, one of my favourite ones was from the German GP a few years ago where they were all taking the piss out of Nico speaking too loudly into his mike. :rotfl:

Great press conference.  I miss seeing them live on coverage.  The majority were boring, but the ones that were fun were immensely fun.  Schumacher/Hakkinen etc

Sky ... air these live.  With the utmost respect for Hill and Herbert, we see them enough on the TV every race weekend.

You can usually find most of them on YouTube so search away. There are some fun ones to find.
