First a little background for the video.

McLaren asked the Spanish TV Antena 3 to make a video to celebrate Fernando's 250th race. They tried to get every driver on the grid to send a message to Fernando, only Raikkonen and Hamilton refused. The video was showed in a small "party" they had in the McLaren motorhome and everyone in the paddock was invited. Mercedes drivers didn't attend and Arrivabene didn't let Kimi or Vettel to go, he also forbid Ferrari team members to appear in the celebratory video despite many of them wanting to do it, at the end they made a private video and it was delivered to Fernando.

Here is the video:

It is pure speculation that Arrivabene didnt allowed the Ferrari people to attend or to speak in the video and that drivers refused specified to congratulate. Its inappropriate for me to even mention that as it is a great achievement to celebrate for Fernando.

Very nice tribute by the way. But Horner is cruel ;) Domenicalli speaking German lol. A bit sad in the end ifyou see that and know that he doesnt have the appropriate machine and that many drivers are wishing to race against him in a proper car. It made me sad somehow

Is not, is what they guys making the video said when it was broadcasted yesterday. They said Arrivabene put a lot of barriers plus what I said in the OP. But let's enjoy the video and the achievement and don't turn this into a battle.

Why is SD speaking german (or attempting to)? Surely the folks at Audi will be just fine with him speaking English as team principle?

Anyway, great tribute for a great driver. Malaysia and valancia 2012 surely two of his most emotional moments of these 250 gps.

I hope his wish to become a wdc in a McLaren will be fulfilled. He deserves it.

I wonder why Lewis refused to take part? Thought they had a good relationship and mutual respect for each other.

Nice video.

Btw, whatever happens until the end of Fernandos career, for me he is already one of the greatest F1 drivers of all times. Racing alongside Alonso gives the other drivers and their careers in F1 more credibility because it's not only what you have achieved, but also who you were racing against.

Very well edited video! Also an interesting note that Red Bull  actively offered Alonso a contract. 'You should have signed for Red Bull / , just think how much you could have won if you had come to us'. What a shame. What a damn shame..

that was actually the most sad moment in this video besides the wish of the drivers that he will have the opportunity to really race again

Excellent video. Summarizes the career of one of the best in our times. Also we are left wondering what may have been if....

Thanks for sharing. These videos really make me feel nostalgic about the past. The contributions by the drivers and crew members seemed genuine and it's clear he has a lot of respect in the F1 paddock. There were guys whose careers were ended by him but they still turned up to show respect.

A great driver and a great human being. Congrats Fernando and hoping for your success in the near future..

Kosmos you bastard! I have to meet with my girlfriend in 10 minutes and my eyes are filled with tears! Ok, I'll tell I was crying because I...err...missed her so much. Yeah, that'll be it.

Nice video. It's a shame Michael Schumacher wasn't able to contribute and that Räikkönen and Hamilton apparently couldn't be bothered. That 2005-2007 period was a great one for Alonso, and it's unfortunate that his biggest opponents during those years aren't in the video. Either way, it's a nice collection! 250 races is nothing to sneeze at.

As an aside, is there a Latin language Rosberg does not speak?

Nico speaks Spanish, German, English, French and Italian ;)

Yeah, the lack of his biggest opponents is probably that what is missing to make this one perfect, but it wont be his last tribute anyway ;)

They probably had other commitments, much like Alonso did this summer. I'm sure in their own way they'll express their congratulations.

Nice video.

Really like this video, thanks Kosmos!

LOL at Lauda's comments. I have wondered if the beard and long hair had something to do with Ron :D And one year ago I wouldn't have imagined that it would be Ron Dennis congratulating Fernando on his 250th milestone, rather than the Ferrari guys. Bit sad that his former team's current TP has decided not to participate but it is great to see Stefano and Vettel in the video. I'm really glad to hear that there was a private video from the Ferrari guys done for Fernando. He deserved their congratulations after racing his best in 96 very memorable races for the team

My favourite moment has to be when Mark Webber appeared. Miss seeing them together on the F1 grid, though they will probably be racing together again in WEC in future. But not too soon in the future I hope. Here's to many races from Alonso in F1 and his 3rd WDC (yes I am still hopeful)

I'm just curious. But did McLaren do something when Button reached 250 races and actually won his 250th race in Hungary 2011?

Shame about the lack of Ferrari contribution for whatever reason,  but it was a great video.
