Very sad but the obvious comment to make is that, whilst allowing for his lifestyle, James died in his sleep too, albeit 10 years younger.

Is this a genetic/heart problem  I wonder?

Awful news. Another sudden death in their sleep for a Hunt brother. The article doesn't mention it but I'm sure he helped Freddie with his racing.
RIP

A  sad loss.  As Gary C says, 55 is no age at all.  My condolences to his family.

Was David involved with developing an early PC [probably for BBC Micro and/or Amstrad machines] game in the mid-late 80s...REVS based on F3 ?

Yep, REVS, still got the box. Very fond memories of that one. Geoff Crammond`s first racing game.. released around the same time as Elite on the BBC. I played it on a Commodore 128, relentlessly... and it set a standard for a motor racing "sim" as opposed to an arcade game. David wrote the track guide for the two circuits, particularity Silverstone. I must have read that a thousand times as a youngster.

RIP David.

RIP David one of the nicest blokes you could ever wish to meet and work for.
55 is no age but he probably crammed more into those years than most would in 105 !
Always on the go my abiding memory will be him on the mobile doing deals with a couple of spare batteries ready cos he would be on it that much
All the effort he put into trying to save Team Lotus and his dealings with Caterham,Hardly anything is recorded about the effort he put in an even less about all the attempts by people to disrupt what he was doing from day one
RIP mate you were one of the good guys
