Hi!

 

I´m going to IOM first time in my life. Becouse the bike is in basically in boxes I have to fly to Isle of Man. It seems that easiest way for me is to fly to Dublin and get the ferry to the island. There is no schedules for ferries though and they are asking advance payment to optimize the schedules. Does anyone have this years schedule of the ferries at that time?

Sorry I can't help with Irish ferries, my annual trip brings me from Fuerteventura. Whatever, make sure you get there, it's the greatest show on earth. One thing you should be looking hard at now though is accommodation, it is not easily found. Enjoy.

You may be better getting a ferry from Belfast if you are in Ireland.

Ok, thanks! I managed to get a home accommondation from Ramsey. It is a bit far from all the action but few minutes walk from Ramsey hairpin

Good for you. Check out my nick, that's where to go. On the bank outside of the corner now known as Molyneux's. 180mph right hander, it sure as hell don't get better.

A little way up from Ramsey hairpin is Waterworks, a good spot but once you are there, you're there until the day's action is over. Often the case though on the Island. Try this website too http://www.ttwebsite.com/forums/ if you can live with the admin's heavy handedness.
And don't forget a small, preferably headset AM/FM radio. Radio TT is on AM on island, very important for commentary, it allows you to get right into it.

Yes and thanks again! I will be there the whole race week, so I have to come and see that Molyneux's. I have been listening to that radio from home, but that´s a good advice too! If you see four Finnish guys come and say hello!

Oh, I thought you were Irish, why do you want to come from Dublin. You'd be better going to Manchester then a 35minute flight to the Isle of Man, about £85 return.    You're not coming from Turku, the home of the late, great, knee down pioneer Jarno Saarinen are you?

Really, there are flights from Manchester to IOM. i thought I have to take a train from there to Liverpool and then to the ferry...this changes the whole plan . Flights from Helsinki to Dublin are quite cheap, but Manchester isn´t bad either. This really helped a lot! I´m not Irish, but I have been to Dublin many times so just thought that it is the easiest way to get to the island. Jeez, I have to call my fellow travellers once again.

I´m not from Turku either, Jarno is one of the greats though. He didn´t want to participate in TT becouse he felt it was too dangerous, well sadly everything can happen everywhere
