I am informed that the photos were the work of Spooner & Wells and were at one time in the collection of Edward Waterman, a well known collector of early racing cars from the eastern US. - they bear his stamp on the reverse side.
I am also told that there is some evidence of a Type S racing in New England fitted with a Duesenberg 4 cylinder engine in the 1920's.
