Gerry Taylor (Swish Anglia Special Saloon fame) has asked me to post the following.

 

"quick line to let supporters of the early days of Special Saloons, know, that one of my mates from those days is very poorly. JEFF WARD, who raced a very rapid IMP, back at the beginning of it all, is in a care home and if anyone wishes to send a get well card, or a message to him, then please get in touch.I will then pass on the address in Leicester. Just a card would , I'm sure, be really appreciated by Jeff and his wife Gina. Thanks. Gerry Taylor."

I suspect he did it deliberately, so only real live people would send him mail. Writing an email address correctly on a public forum is asking for a bunch of mail you don't want, as bots that harvest email addresses are very common.

I hope you have the decency to edit your post immediately, Ray. It's one thing to not care about your own spam mail, but to play around with other peoples addresses is totally unacceptable!!

Mike Berman has just posted in facebook the following.

 

Extremely sad to announce that long term friend, colleague and fellow competitor Jeff Ward passed away on Sunday after a long illness. He will of course be always remembered and I hope to pay my respects to him and his family at his funeral with others R.I.P.
