Yup it is... it looks similar to Bardahl and BP but these already feature elsewhere (from memory).

Hi all. Calling once more on your collective knowledge and wisdom!
Bud Morley raced an Elva Mk II (McLaren M1B) in 1966 and I have two questions:
1) Who was the engine supplier/tuner he carried a sticker of on the side of his car (with a griffin / lion on it)
2) What was the first name of his mechanic with surname Collins?
Also, John Cannon drove the ex-Bonnier, yellow, McLaren M6B with MAC's branding in 1969 (Mont Tremblant).
His mechnic's firstname was JACK. What was his surname?
Thanks for all your help!
The chief mechanic on the ex Bonnier M6B owned by Bill young and campaigned in 1969 was Jack Hoare. Jack was an ex Shelby mechanic and he talked Bill Young into running a Ford BB. The Ford BB had reliability issues.

Thanks Bob! I was working on the basis of that theory as I had found Jack was also the man on the later twin engine MAC-it car. Thanks for confirming, much appreciated!

Yes Jack Hoare when on to build the MACS-It special in 1970. It had four Rotax 800cc snowmobile engines one on each wheel.

I am coming pretty late to the party but I thought I would contribute what I can to the identification of the mechanic on the Morley car. Frank Barrett was correct, it is Dabney Collins. Dab is the fellow at the back of the car holding the jack handle.
Dab spent many years as an import car mechanic, owning and operating several shops in the Denver area in the '50s and early '60s, and was service manager at a couple of others. He was also a driver and mechanic/crew chief for the Temple Buell team in the mid-50s.
At the time the Morely photo was taken Dab was a foreman and machinist at a machine shop in Boulder, CO. Dab says he served as Morley's mechanic for only a couple of races, one in Las Vegas, and one in Palm Springs. Dab is hale and hearty at 90 now, I am glad to say.

Sorry to divert, and we'll go to PM if you say yes and are able, but your name's familiar, Ron. Did you know John Barker?I am coming pretty late to the party but I thought I would contribute what I can to the identification of the mechanic on the Morley car. Frank Barrett was correct, it is Dabney Collins. Dab is the fellow at the back of the car holding the jack handle.

Thanks Ron, that's a great bit of context and it's good to have the name seconded!

One additional comment about the Bud Morely car. Dab Collins told me that the engine in it was a Shelby Cobra. Can't help with the "engine by" sticker on the side of the car, I'm afraid.

Ah, that's very interesting... thanks! The plot thickens! We will get all the facts together ...at some point!

I am not 100% sure, but I believe this may be Bud Morely in his McLaren at a May, 1966 race at Continental Divide Raceway, Castle Rock, CO. Probably an SCCA national or possibly a regional event.
