Thank you for your kind mentions for my late brother John. It was very sudden but he had been plagued in the last few years of his life by severe mobility issues most simply a result of the wearing out ageing process - though maybe not helped by the regular crashes a racer endures during their careers - which he subsequently found mentally and physically draining and frustrating for a previously active man.

This had nothing to do with his cause of death which was quick & sudden. At least where he is now, he is free of all pain. I miss him greatly.

Best wishes Jim

Hi Jim, So sorry to hear of John's passing, very sad news indeed, and yes please post any photo's you have, I have a fascination with the Palace, and took a walk around it a couple of years ago which stoked up my interest even more.

Being a Northerner, and being only about 12 years old when racing finished there, I have only ever seen photo's and the odd video clip, but I used to read about it in MCN, which I was buying out of my pocket money from around 10 years of age.

On another note, a chap on the classic racing website was trying to get back in touch with you recently, I PM'd him your last known email address from a few years ago when I lived in Laceby, hopefully he has got in touch, if not PM me and i'll give you more details, I think he said he drove taxi's with you in London many years ago.

Drove Taxis in London - Jeez that was a long time ago.. I would not remember him I doubt anyway. I tried to post a few pics of John at the Palace earlier but do not know how to. I use to have a web site and and some server space that I could post and leave a direct link to the image but its all changed and I am retired now and gave that all up. So not sure how to do it now. If I can figure a way I shall. Best wishes, Jim

Posting images on here can be a bit of a pain, you need to set up an account on an image hosting site like photobucket, it's free and takes a few minutes, then load your images onto your account there, and post the link into your message on here after clicking the image option at the top of your post.

Not as complicated as it sounds Jim,, but for some reason it doesn't always work if you are using certain versions of internet explorer as your web browser, I find I have to come to the site using Google Chrome or Firefox to be able to post an image from my photobucket account.

I'm sorry Paul but I have had no luck trying to post any pics from Crystal Palace on here. I have opened accounts with FlickR and also tried with my BT cloud storage having spent a few hours on it this morning I have now decided to give up with it - nothing seems to work.

Merry Christmas - JIm.

While I'm the last person to be offering IT advice to anyone, pics can be attached to emails and sent to someone on here to post .

Hi Jimmy

Just read the sad news about John, ironically after finding a photograph tonight on the Aermacchi going over Ballaugh Bridge in the 65 TT

My very Best Wishes to you

Steve Hayman
