Ferraris 2004 championship winning car, could arguably be called the best Formula One Car in history.
Does anyone know where it is now? Is it in Ferraris posession in a museum or is some lucky owner keeping it in his garage?

I hate to disappoint you but if you're gonna do more research on the subject you will find out that MS drove several different chassis named F2004 that season. Likely he used several engines over the entire season too so you really can't speak about `the` definitive F2004 of MS that can be found somewhere. At best one of the cars he used that season and then it becomes a matter if the engine fitted to it ever had been fitted to the car during the season..

 

Possibly the last car of which you can say that it was a driver's WDC car of the season might be Lauda's 1984 McLaren. If I remember correct he drove almost the entire season with one and the same chassis tub, but maintained with fresh engines and other components regularly. Maybe later WDC's were won with primarily one and the same tub too but the '84 Lauda car is the last one I remember right now.

My understanding is that Schumacher won his first five victories in 2004 in chassis 234 and the next seven in chassis 239. I don't know which chassis he used for his win in Japan.

There is a video kicking about somewhere, with Button and Hamilton visiting Mclarens storage warehouse, and being surprised at the amount of cars they built for a single season in the late 80`s and 90`s.. This suggested that by 2000 (Buttons debut) that perhaps there were only 3 or 4 tubs built for a season at the most.

 

They are after all, highly specialised prototypes.. and no two are identical.

I think Autocourse has a list of chassis numbers being used during the season where we can find it.

Oh well then. Where are the chassis used during the 2004 season? Any of them in the open market?
