Full course yellows when there's an incident only at Turn One?
I'm not sure I follow what the race director is up to here, in Fuji and at the Nürburgring as well. They did so well at Le Mans with the short Slow Zones.
Two of these in quick succession is a bit too much for me. I'll watch the rest on the highlights.

the #8 audi's problem pretty much killed it for me. now it is if #17 finishes, they are champions, if they have further problems, and #7 not, they are champs. pretty straightforward.

Porsche have Webbered it
Posted 21 November 2015 - 16:54
I see Webber has not lost his touch.
Posted 21 November 2015 - 16:55
If #18 wins and #7 finishes 2nd, where has the Webbered Porsche need to finish?
Posted 21 November 2015 - 16:58
Commentators just said somewhere around 8th or 9th. Have not calculated it myself, but anyway, they should still win it unless they drop a couple places further down.
Posted 21 November 2015 - 16:58
The hybrid system is apparently gone on Webber's Porsche.

Delighted for Hartley, fully deserved championship.
Shame Webber was carried to it as there are 3 faster and more deserving drivers in the #18, but hey it's a team sport
LOL. Webber is also a fully deserve champion. He made great improvements this year.

What a race, congrats Mark Timo Brendon and all the Porsche crew!
super tense race, those moments when #17's engine was cut and how Mark dealt with the situation were epic!

Can't agree I'm afraid. He's been slower than molasses all year, and any of the #18 drivers would be a more deserving champion in my humble opinion.
Sorry, I have a always a problem with it if people are downgrading someones championship immediately with weak arguments

This is great news for the WEC, should be on quite a few of the back pages tomorrow, well done Webbo and team Be a bit less dominate next year though yeah, and let Ant Davidson win Le mans

Ahh the Webber haters, quick to come crawling out of the woodwork.
The bloke's just won a World Championship, yet some will find fault in whatever he accomplishes.
Seriously, what more can someone do than win ? ? ?
Hilarious
Congrat's to all 3 drivers.
They won, simple as that.

Congratulations to Hartley, Webber, Bernhard, and also to Lietz, Beche, Prost, Canal, Rusinov, Bird, Basov, Bertolini, and Shaytar.
I hope that's all of them.
I'm not too pleased by how the WEC has developed over the course of the 2015 season, most notably in regard to the frequent full neutralizations in a sport where strategy plays such an important role, but Porsche did a good job and that's fair enough.

Great race, incredible result.
This championship has made F1 look a bit bland all season long. Wheel to wheel stuff at the 3 hour mark in the race nearly every race. I'm actually not sure how the governing body is pulling that off, the cars just converge mid race.
Congratulations to Brandon, Mark and Timo. Deserving champions this year. They've been the quickest car on track nearly every race.
Posted 22 November 2015 - 00:18
Delighted for Webber. Too many online experts want to give him a kicking, but I'm genuinely happy for him.
Considering he never won a title prior to F1 his resume is very impressive, there are few drivers of this generation with a better career than Mark. Was probably never quite good enough for an F1 title, but he well and truly deserves this.

End of an era for Toyota and Ferrari, arguably two of the best sounding engines on the grid. No more high rev V8 screamers. Goodbye to Alex Wurz, glad he got a podium in his last race. Porsche beat Audi, and Webber got his world championship! Too bad there were only about 10 people in the stands

Only personal opinion at the end of the day. Porsche pay Hartley to put it on pole for him, and Bernhard to build an unassailable gap for him, so I struggle to get very excited about him 'winning' just as I do the gentleman racer who 'wins' in ELMS off the back of a Gold & Platinum driver.

Timing data available for everyone to see. The only place where Webber was clearly slower than his teammates was Le Mans itself. With the two-driver quali system he's done his fair share of quali runs, and he's been the fastest Porsche driver in terms of race laps on a number of occasions this year. And if you hold up Fuji as an example of MW being slower than his teammates in the race, he was the one that drove in that race when the track was at its wettest. Also, you seem to forget Silverstone, Webber started the car there and drove away from the field (including the other Porsche) until the car developed a terminal gearbox issue.
And the comparison with gentleman drivers is also flawed and invalid. All the cars in the ELMS that compete for a win have at least one Silver/Bronze-rated driver running. Often enough it's the pace of the gentleman driver that makes the difference.

One thing that's taken me a few years of following endurance racing to grasp is that when it comes to watching a race and trying to work out which of the drivers is pulling their weight and which aren't --
you can't do it.

Quite an ignorant opinion. Webber has probably been Porsche's fastest overall driver this year, some of his stints have simply been incredible, go watch Fuji in the early race he made everyone else look stupid. It's hard to say who is the best overall driver as all play their own roles, but Webber would undeniably be one of WEC's top drivers.

I'm a big Webber fan and thought he had a good year, but didn't Webber have a poor Fuji? Was he not on pole and then went off several times to end up quite a long way down after the first couple of stops?

Are you sure about that. it sounds like your telling the truth. Haters are normally ignorant to logic and truth.
