Richard Warland in his Mallock had a slight hiccup on the first lap of the second Sports Car race. The front uni yoke exploded. Taking the extension housing off of the Quaife gearbox, taking the substansial tailshaft loop off of the chassis and doing some minor chassis damage under the gearbox. And luckily only doing very minor chassis damage to Richard. As the tailshaft gnawed its way into his hip through the floor and the seat.
I have never seen a yoke break like this, break unis, break the yoke where the unis are installed but this has exploded. There is evidence it may have been cracked for a while but look at the pic.
I blame Bill Hanson as he has got the engine going really well, the car was on pole for the Sports Cars and won the first race and was doing very good times.
