Walt Faulkner and Shorty Cantlon must be in contention too, as the "Shorty" definitely wasn't sarcasm a la Tiny Lund.

What about Cecil Green? I've often seen him mentioned in the 5'4" range. George Robson was "Little George" for a reason. Even though he never made the field at Indianapolis, Mike McGreevy, at 5'1" would be the shortest driver in Championship Cars.
Also, no matter what figure they give for Gordon Johncock, it's off. I towered over him when he stood alongside me after coming out of the driver's lounge at Riverside and I'm not that tall.
I don't keep records of driver heights, I just recalled Andretti being regularly mentioned as "Indy's shortest". From pictures, I'd guees that Carl "Shorty" Drexler was the shortest, barely able to look over the cowl of a Miller (about four feet from the ground) while standing beside it.
