Hi guys

Just wondering if anyone could help complete a project of mine, over the past couple of years I've created a detailed history of the British Superbike championship as well as its support classes, that part is now complete but for those not aware between 1989-1993 and 1995 there were in fact two championships, the main (and more prestigious) "Supercup" of which I have everything complete plus.... the less promoted and harder to trace "TT Superbike challenge". I have the Race results and champions from the superbike class but am missing quite a bit from the national support classes.

Listed below is what I have so far from race programmes and copies of MCN but any more help would be great. Cheers

Many thanks ChiliFan, I have updated my original post with your answers.

Just leaves 1990-1991 to sort.

Any more help from anyone would be great.

I have almost all of the relevant programmes from 1990 and at most of the MCN TT Superbike meetings there were only non-championship support races. You probably know that the Superbikes supported the GPs at Assen and Donington, and from the other rounds there’s only one that I’ve found that has anything that fits your requirements. Round one of the Superbikes (17th June, Donington) also featured round four of the MCI ACU National championship races - Supersport 600, Supersport 400, 250cc, 125cc, Open Sidecars, Formula 2 Sidecars, TT Formula 1 and TT Production. I also have a couple of other programmes for the 1990 National championships (6th May, round three and 22nd July, round five - both Mallory Park) and these also include rounds of the ACU Classic Bike championships for 500, 350 and 250 machines - but my information shows that the final National round was at Donington on 28th October. So the best I can give you is the points leaders after round five in July, which probably isn’t much help...

My information for 1991 is a bit better, again from programmes I’ve collected. There were varying championship support races at various MCN rounds but some of them were apparently one-off arrangements. Championship classes included the MCN Superteen; MRPC Open Sidecars; Central Despatch (London) F2 Sidecars; Classic Bike Magazine 500cc, 350cc, 250cc championships; and also the Regal 600 Series (at Knockhill); Battle of the Twins; Sound of Singles. Several of these championships concluded at the Brands Powerbike event on 20th October, but unfortunately my programme doesn’t have results filled in. I can give you the points leaders prior to the last race, but there was only one championship definitely tied up by then: the F2 Sidecar title was won by John Brindley/Chris Jones with a 348cc Yamaha.

If it would help to give you the points leaders with one round to go do let me know.

Hi first can I say a massive thank you for all your help so far,

Yes if you could let me know the 1990 standings after round 5 and the 1991 points before the final round that would be a great help, surprising how much you can find out with just a little info to go on.

OK, here is the information for 1991:

With one round to go, the MCN Superteen series was led by Jason Vincent (79 points), from Michael Rutter (73), David Jefferies (71) and Darren Mitchell (71), all on Suzuki RGV250.

The other points leaders
MRPC Open Sidecar - Barry Brindley/Scott Whiteside (Krauser Yamaha 500)
Classic Bike Magazine 500cc - John Cronshaw (BSA)
Classic Bike Magazine 350cc - Malcolm Clark (Ducati)
Classic Bike Magazine 250cc - John Lenton (Yamaha)
Sound of Singles - Robin Milton (Harris Rotax 600)
Battle of the Twins - Mark Forsyth (Ducati 888)
Regal 600 Series - Ian Simpson (Yamaha)
And don’t forget that John Brindley won the F2 title with Chris Jones not Derek Jones.

I will get you the 1990 info soon as well.
