What was the reason why they didn't change the tyre? surely they couldn't have forgotten about it! A safety car for debris that we never saw was all a bit Nascar aswell.

I don't know haven't seen anything reported but the commentators said before the main race that Bentley received a fine for failing to change on of the wheels.

Amazing racing. Half hour to end and only 5 sec between leaders and 2nd place.

What a thriller. Soo much fight and that ending. Only 0,3 s between winner (McLaren Van Gisbergen) and 2nd Mercedes. And everything free on YT and Dailymotion.

Why is Fisichella considered a pro am?

Surely after his stint in F1 he would be up there with the main group.

He's the pro, his teamamtes are the ams.  Why he isn't in the AF Corse cars in the front group, ask AF Corse.

I love watching the Blancpain sprint series but again today I really struggled with the endurance series. Just too many cars, especially on a track like Monza, and too many amateurs. I wasn't getting excited by any of the battles.

I've enjoyed watching the BlancPain series for a few years now but I have to ask, does anyone actually attend them? I've honestly never seen so many empty grandstands in my life. It sometimes looks like the marshals outnumber the fans by a wide margin.  :drunk:

Time to give this thread a bit of a bump, had a cracking day at Brands Hatch for the Sprint Series made all the better thanks to sum lovely weather :). Great to see such a high class field covered by so little in the qualifying. Anyway here here my vid from Saturdays practice and qualifying also with footage from Blancpain GT Sports club.

I don't like Audi, but I do like Vanthoor. Shame that the race penned out for him this way.

Also, Schneider, what can I say; I was a kid when I first saw him in DTM and FIA GTs, and he's still kicking massive ass. Proper impressed by a lot of the drivers and teams.

The two wrt cars colliding is rather akward. I'm sure there will be strong words in the garage later. Shame we haven't seen a replay yet. Great race so far. GT at Brands on a sunny day. What's not to like?

Yep agreed, cars, circuit and weather was great. Don't know too much about Stephane Ratel, but from what I know he seems nice enough and it seems to be him which has put together this current GT3 era. Saw him sitting on the grass bank at Paddock in amongst the spectators watching one of the support races today. So refreshing to see, seems a genuine fan of the sport. Can't imagine Bernie doing that.

Why was SC under investigation ? I missed the race, but read some odd tweets about SC in the blancpain race today.

The safety car stayed out much longer than necessary at at one point had its lights out, drivers told the race was going green, but the safety car stayed out. Fortunately no repeat of the famous Paul Ricard incident, but could have been.

I'm not sure if anything came of this in the end, it probably didn't affect the race result at the front, but was frustrating for fans and could have changed some results further down if drivers had had more time to race on.

During warmup for the PWC at Lime Rock Park Andrew Palmer crashed into a stationary Jorge de la Torre. Both have been airlifted to the hospital. It took 20 minutes to get Palmer out of the car. No information on the drivers condition has been released.
