Hi,
I am trying to find out some info on the tuning aspects of the TS250's made into road racers by Vic Camp, specifically the 77-82 reed valve model engines.
So any technical data on porting, head design, exhaust design, ignition, carburettor etc
I thought i was the only person into modifying these engines until i stumbled across a few forum posts where i was surprised to find out these were used for road racing. I saw there was one for sale with a RTD electronic ignition so any info on the particular model used there would be great. Also there's a yellow number 18 bike that i assume has a Power Dynamo ignition fitted sold by Road and Race Ignitions in UK (not longer exist?), i would like to see a photo of the flywheel on that if someone on here owns that bike, so i can see if its the TS250 or PE250 ignition on it made by Power Dynamo.I can not find any sort of performance tuning info on these engines online so i am hoping some of the notes from Vic Camp have survived? I did see a forum post where someone found a 2mm spacer under the barrel on a bike that bought so that sounds interesting. Because the TS uses the same reed valve as the RM and PE250 i was able to find a NOS DG Performance 6 petal hi flow reed valve for my engine and i am planning to get reproductions CNC machined. That should be a good improvement.I would also like to swap the 28mm carburettor for a 32mm. I am not sure how radical the porting and exhaust would need to be to handle a bigger carburetorr. I am also making a custom made air box for a better air filter that is more free flowing.
Look forward to hopefully finding out some more info on here
Cheers
