Pretty self-explanatory, but I was wondering if anyone could provide any leads on how to search for any rights holder for a long-defunct U.S. publication? The publication, a newspaper published in Southern California, ceased publication c. 1968. The editor/publisher was not a young man then.

Any assistance on how to determine who the rights holder is, or if there even is a rights holder, would be greatly appreciated. The same could prove greatly useful in attempting to track down other rights holders for the many, many other defunct U.S. racing publications.

You may be aware of this already, Jim, but it's probably worth flagging up for future reference:

Richard, Thank You very much for posting those links.

I believe it's safe to say all of us making a living from our intellectual property hold this issue in the highest regard, particularly in this digital age -- so really appreciate anyone spreading the word on this.

Thanks Again!
