I am trying to track down Clive Oakley the hillclimber that used to run the Cooper-Daimler that Gillian Goldsmith currently runs. I suspect that if he is still with us he would be in his late 80s or early 90s.
Thanks.

Ancestry throws up two or three possibles, Steve.
Least likely seems to be Trevor Clive Oakley (1939-80) born and died in Bristol.
More promising are Clive G Oakley, born Birmingham 1936 and Clive HW Oakley, born Hendon 1934. Either or both might still be with us, although online death records generally don't go past 2007.
Cross-referencing to electoral rolls on FindmyPast suggests the former may have still been around until at least 2004/5, again in Birmingham. No death record around that date, so maybe just opted out of the public roll. The latter may still be alive, possibly in Minehead.

I spoke to him in the 1980s about his cars. Anything I can help with?
Clive HW seems to have lived mainly in the Home Counties, but retired to Somerset. Would that fit, Allen?
