Bottas changed from Arai to Stilo for the new season. He is now the 2nd driver besides Nasr supplied by the manufacturer from Bergamo. (Edit: actually Palmer as well)

The chin bar on those things is hideous compared to the Bell, Arai and Schuberth helmets.

Those are two of the very few remaining helmets on the grid that are devoid of any "speed streaks" or such bullshit that have made most of them so hideous. Stilo have chosen well.

Kimi's helmets have been on a downward trajectory for fourteen years.

Early contender for helmet of the year, Iannone with a tribute to the seagull he hit at Philip Island. He is also using AGV again.

One thing is for sure, the riders helmets beat all the F1 ones.

I loathe most MotoGP helmets. They're a total mess.

I like the openness of them, and they are far more creative as well.

Are the F1 drivers in winter testing allowed to try out multiple helmet designs?

or do they have to stick with one, like during the season?

From the Sporting Regulations 9.1

In order for drivers to be easily distinguished from one another whilst they are on the track, the crash helmet of each driver must be presented in substantially the same livery at every Event during a Championship season.

So yes, they can try out multiple helmet designs at tests.

How are we supposed to know who is who when they can change helmet design during testing!!!?????

I expect FIA and the what-its-called-team-council-group-of-selected-team-managers to make a serious clamp down on this asap!

What about Bernie introducing a Race Helmet Design Modification Fee, payable to FOM - starting at £10,000 with an increase of 10 % for every change ?

Complement it with a Race Helmet Manufacturer Switch Fee on the same lines - and then introduce the same for testing, practising and qualifying - separately, of course.

Please no. It's one of the simplest and most recognizable helmets on the grid. I like it far better than most of his old helmets. Plus, white looks good with  the Ferrari red.

Being able to change their helmets whenever was awesome...it not only allowed them to pay tribute to fans/country they're in but also showed personality. I don't like Vettel but he had great helmets. This whole thing of wanting simple designs and one helmet design is dated...JV's helmet was simple but a damn mess (even if sentimental).

What about letting drivers choose their helmet design whenever they want?

But your solution has more F1 written all over it though - take a solution to a problem t hat doesn't exist and overcomplicate it.

Is that a guess or what it's actually going to look like? I mean do we know/assume they have to run the team colors in their helmet?

Magnussen once said that he always changes the color of the helmet to the car. Started that theme when he won the 3.5 title with DAMS. So it could be something like this, but I don't think this is the official 2016 helmet.

It isn't official helmet. Just Daimon's guess on how it might look like.

Yeah, it looks like something Perez has worn before.

I get he likes to grow the 'Hulk' brand, still I prefer the previous design (and the clever incorporation of NH at he back). Also the new Twitter name feels somewhat redundant.

Reminds me of Liuzzi's Italian helmet (well, half of it).

As soon as Max Verstappen leaves RBR/STR, where a special Red Bull helmet design is forced upon their drivers, I hope he will return to the helmet design he used most of his karting and F3 period.

Max%20Verstappen%20F3%202014%20(1).jpg

It had this nice combination of agression, a tribute to his dad's helmet, and the Orange touch of the Dutch national colour.

Actually found a nice proposal on the internet, would be a great option :

He's got that distinctive-Verstappen 'ribbon' on the chin of his Red Bull helmet. The rest is mostly the same old boring stuff we've seen on every racing driver for 15 years now.
