After the looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo (ooooooooooo) ng winter brake Formula E is back to racing in one of the most spectacular locations of the calendar.
Around the crowded streets of Puerto Madero, the e-Prix of Buenos Aires is ready to deliver this saturday evening.

DO YOU REMEMBER LAST YEAR'S? ________________________________________________________________________________________________________

It was probably the craziest, Indy-cariest race of the entire season. Buemi's: "NOOOOOOOOO" almost reminiscent of Darth Vader's, four lead changes, crashes, wheel to wheel fights, dramas and an unexpected winner in Antonio Felix Da Costa.

After the disappointment of Putrajaya, Sebastien Buemi came back to the top in Punta del Este.
A mistake in the Super Pole Shootout prevented him from another pole position, but he managed to recover from 5th in race to the first position.

Lucas di Grassi tried to challenge the Dams driver, but was unable to find the right overtaking spot in a challenging track for those kind of manouvers.

Behind a big melee fight between Jean Eric Vergne & Nelson Piquet Jr for 7th, ended up with a big crash by the brazilian!

Buenos Aires street circuit is considered one of the best of the current Formula E tracks. Combining fast sections with tight hairpins, this circuit can deliver spectacular racing.
This is one of the fastest spots, Turn 11

The circuit is basically the same as last year, we can compare performances this time.

A little bit of a shake-up in the driver's line-up during the winter break!

Massive news in Venturi, with JV (Villeneuve!) getting axed by the team after a disappointing debut in Venturi. He will be replaced by the Street-Circuit Master, Mike Conway!

Team Aguri axed Berthon as well, re-introducing the good old Salvador Duran

Finally, Nick Heidfeld will be back for Mahindra, after having missed Punta del Este due to hand's lignament injury.

Have you heard the expression "Damned by faint praise"?

Nice OP though!

Thought about that while writing the OP actually

Most of the current Formula E tracks are weird, let's say that Buenos Aires is more traditional.

But things are going to improve, next race in Mexico on a pretty decent layout, than Paris wich looks interesting.

The world is spreding on the web in the last days.

According to AutoBuild.de and some journalists close to the driver, Robert Kubica is looking to get a seat in Formula E for next season, and ready to reduce his WRC programme.

I'd be the first to applaud a Kubica return to open wheel racing, particularly Formula E which has so many street races. But then, the issue for Robert has always been cockpit space - does anybody know why would a Formula E cockpit be any different to a Formula 1 cockpit? At the very least, you'd expect Robert to take up Mercedes' and/or Ferrari's offers of testing for the teams to see whether he could drive an F1 car.

I am looking forward to a Buemi-DiGrassi double-DNF, so the championship can tighten up again.

Loic Duval FTW!!

Kubica would be very cool, but I also fail to understand how FE would be much more suitable than F1 for his limited mobility and dexterity?

One of Kubicas problems is that he cant turn the wheel completely in very tight hairpins (esp Monaco Loews). IIRC tests in the Merc simulator would have proved that he can drive everything else without any problem. I dont know if any of the hairpins in the FE calendar would be a problem too. Maybe he would just drive occasionally.

I've read this rumour yesterday as well, but didnt took it very serious, because Autobild is usually making up rumours, but who knows.

Oddly enough, Kubica has been on my list of people to join Formula E for quite some time. Also on that list are:

Timo Glock

Marvin Kirchhoffer (depending on what happens to him in the future and whether or not he gets into F1)

Davide Valsecchi

Some of the names from GP3 2013 (e.g. Facu Regalia and Jack Harvey)

Adam Carrol is ready to replace Heidfeld, if the german will still suffer from his hand injury after tomorrow's shakedown.

The irish driver tested for Mahindra this summer.

Last year's race was a good one, the top two both crashing from the lead was epic.

I think this year Buemi will walk it, the car has been strong and he has been very good too. However, I'm hoping JEV finally gets it together and gets back to the quali speed he had last year and does something in the race.

I'm reading that Vergne is missing today's race due to illness. That's a real shame, and surely a big dent to any title hopes.

I guess we'll know in 30 minutes time, who's behind the wheel of that DS Citroen Virgin car in FP2.

Lopez is reported to be in DS box right now, he already had a test in the summer so i guess he has the licence.

The crowd would go crazy.
