Can anyone explain to me when Lola stopped the single obvious numbers (it seems there's no Mk 7) and took up the numbering system we know.?

Cheers,

My understanding is that when Formula Junior came to an end at the end of 1963, Lola/Midland Racing Partnership were left with a few redundant Mk5A FJunior cars. One of them was fitted with an F3 engine and became the T53 (presumably Mk5/3) and a couple of others became F2 cars (T54), with the T-numbers continuing onward from there. See this page on the Lola Heritage site:

I always thought that the change came when Broadley started producing Lolas again after the Ford contract came to an end.

Not to mention the change c1985 when they went from the T-000 system to the T-two digits of the year/two digits designating model. Of course the latter system has had so many variations that I have never really been able to figure out a consistent pattern.
