Ok, seen as there is much grumbling about the lack of a livery competition this year here goes! I did agree to start the livery thread this year but due to lack of time I never got round to it. But, better late than never huh?!

The rules are as simple as always:
 

• You can use any colour scheme you like, as long as it doesn't "ape" an already existing livery
• You can use any sponsor you like
• Don't change the design of the template

Only the other day I made mention that the livery thread was missing from the site. Seeing as no Mod' has moved my effort I've reposted it below.

Sorry about it looking a bit flat but that's MS paint for you.
(I'll admit that I have cleaned up the template to suit this design. Those producing entries with professional rendering programmes, in my view, do much more to it, to remove every last pixelated error than you see here.) if toys still need to by thrown out, then I've made a second copy with a full re-overlay of the template.

Story... Our Synergy F1 Team are still partnered with Honda power for 2016. Poor results in 2015 could not be blamed on Davide Valsecchi, but he leaves the team, to join Andretti Racing to have a year's Indycar drive. He gained just a single point during the 2015 season for us and to show so much effort and have so little back in return was heart rending. Marco Andretti and Kamui Kobayashi both say on. Joined by development driver Carmen Jordá. She will be employed in a fully standby race mode role the whole year, with the promise to take part in at least 3 Grand Prix. (Typically 1 start every 7 race weekends, beginning at the Spanish GP) and having six further P1 session outings.

We will have dispensation to run a special second colour scheme just for her. Due to our Pantone sponsorship and their colour of the year 2016 being a combination of Serenity Blue and Rose Quartz. Snapple backing replaces DrPepper as brand awareness theme for '16. Paul Smith high end fashion company fully joins our co sponsor member group and RBS (plus underside of the rear wing) provide extra "help" to overcome a shortfall in performance revenue. Carmen brings a pile of Spanish supermarket Euros. Kamui locks in more from Toshiba. The rest of the income is again provided by Nike. And to launch the 2016 car, will be hiring Madison Square Garden for a media bash and fashion show, to synergy into Nike's securitisation of the NBA team wear deal in the coming years.

Had a go at an Alfa Romeo livery. Using my crazy imagination that they may go and overdo the layout in a haphazard way...



As you can see, lots of Italian firms, throwing many millions of Euros straight down the drain.

For Cod's sake ..There is a time and a plaice for everything but I wouldn't go off template just for the halibut.
More importantly,as witnessed in the seminal BEST THREAD OF ALL TIME ON AUTOSPORT, It is vital that you all crab the scale of the situation here and don't make your entry a turtle disaster.

Looks perfectly plausible, maybe a bit Indycar-ish where they aren't afraid of using actual colours.

I would say yes, for the sake of consistency... Let's stick to the template. Designs not using the template won't make it through to the voting stage. But feel free to post them in the Fantasy Livery thread.

It was one of the few logos whose colour meant that it could merge naturally with the background

Didn't know F1 cars could fly...someone better tell the designers that they've put the wings upside-down. But works very nicely, as does the Team Sky livery.

 

Also the fantasy Haas liveries (I know one was tongue in cheek but still) and that last Mclaren one, do they perhaps belong in the fantasy livery thread?
