Hello

May you help me to know if there's still possible to contact the follwing drivers? They all drove on Portuguese F3 races during late 60's:

- John Fenning

- Martin Davies

- Geoff Oliver

- Martin Stephani

- Chuck McCarthy (I may be confused, but i think he died already :( )

- Barry Collerson

- Cliff Haworth

- Kurt Keller

- Rollo Fielding

- John Peterson

- Allan Taylor

- Mike Herbertson

Thanks for all

Hi, by coincidence I have just finished reading the Barry Collerson autobiography "From Mt Druitt to Monza" which was published in 2004. An enjoyable read about motor racing in Oz and his gypsy existence racing F3 in the sixties.  I believe Barry is still with us and you may be able to find him on Facebook.

Regards Shane

Thanks!!!!!! I found Collerson's page on facebook..... in fact, Facebook for me is a contact toll for my works, I far prefer that than use it for my University friends, because with those it's personal contact if possible. From the remaining ones that raced at Lordelo I managed to trace and email Manfred MOhr and Derek Bell; and Chris Williams died, even if he was interviewed by the newspapers that year and left his opinion on the circuit

Rollo Feilding (note correct spelling) who became the 11th Earl of Denbigh, died on 23rd March 1995.

There was a suggestion that Cliff Haworth might also have died in a road accident in 1972 - see this earlier thread:

Not a driver- but Cliff Haworths mechanic ( Max Rutherford) covers the season in his book "Paddock to Podium". A worthy read.

You should be able to contact John Fenning through Willans Harnesses, he has retired/sold the company but I'm sure they know how to reach him.

I used to work with Geoff Oliver at Fiat Motor Sales in Brentord, London...however, the last time I saw him was at least 18 years ago. I'll send you his old address in a pm

Nowadays Collerson's page about the book is managed by his daughter, and even if age weighs a bit Barry Collerson still remembers and enjoys to speak about the past. I imagine he should be one of the oldest from these list.

I agree, it would be good to see some more pics from this era.

Wartburg engines were probably all that the DDR locals could get hold of.  It seems that Ford power had the legs by some margin though.
