Hi guys,

i am interested to find out when ABS was first introduced into F1.

I can find information that says that the use of driver aids including ABS were banned in 1993 however i am struggling to find out when ABS was first used in F1.

I was wondering if anyone knows? and if there is any official documentation that answers this question or another reliable source?

Regards

I believe 1993 was the first and last year ABS was used in F1.  I think Williams introduced it on their FW15C at the French Grand Prix.

I remember Patrese testing the awful thing at Williams and Benetton, 1992-3

There was some insight from Patrick Head about their ABS in the Jan 06 edition of Motorsport Magazine (page 63). Rory Byrne confirmed in that piece Benetton never raced ABS in 93.
