Happy Birthday to  John Surtees, what an amazing career he has had, which was so long ago most people on here perhaps never saw it.

I certainly saw him, he was something of a hero for me...

I am hoping to meet up with him when I'm in England in June, if anyone can help effect that I'd appreciate an e-mail.

John is a very busy person.

I know this as it took me a year to interview him on the radio when he came to www.meridianfm.com in East Grinstead to chat about his phenomenal racing career and we selected a number of songs including My Way by Frank Sinatra, Nessum Dorma, The Chain etc

You need to contact his PA Sharon Bowness:

He won the first race I ever saw, and I believe it may have been his first race for Scuderia Ferrari: 12 Hours of Sebring, 1963. Many years later he and I had a nice chat about it at Revival.

Happy birthday and sincere best wishes to John Surtees, a truly remarkable man.

An amazing career I can remember seeing him win the 350, 500, & unlimited motor cycle racing classes at cadwell  Park on Norton's & his Dad raced in the sidecar races on a Vincent Grey Flash, around 1954
