I learn from the Retro-Speed website that well-known Bentley dealer, restorer and racer of vintage and PVT Bentleys, Stanley Mann, died on the 4th February following a fall in his workshop. He was an ever-present face at VSCC and Bentley Drivers Club meetings for over 40 years, and he was the founder and life president of Benjafield's Racing Club.

Condolences to his family and to his many friends

Very sorry to hear this.  Falls, especially at "our" age are never a good thing.  I never met Stanley Mann although I did talk to him on the phone once.  He always seemed to me to have the ideal occupation.  Although some may disapprove of so many "StanleMan's Bentleys" I am sure he will be missed by the vintage fraternity - condolences to his family and friends.

I never met him but I always enjoyed reading his adverts in the magazines. From what I gather his personality suited the kinds of cars he favored.

Coincidentally, engine-building legend Jim Travers also just passed away as the result of a fall.

Condolences to the Mann family.

Top bloke- I told him, back when the National Lottery started, that he would be the first person I would phone, should my numbers come up. Every time we met he reminded me of this but when I hinted at a discount, he seemed to go deaf. A real character, his early, tiny, one-column adverts in Motor Sport were one of the first things I looked at. RIP: Stan, the Mann.
