Another great Phillip Island Classic is over. With a superb gathering of car and enthusiast to well and truly whet everyone's appetite and still want more.
After 3 days of wandering around so much of the event, it still remains difficult to see it all. But worth giving a damn good crack.
I photographed and/or spoke with a few TNF members, Mark Bisset, 2bob (Bob Collinson), pallas... (James Calder), S J Lambert (James) and John Medley and many other fellow enthusiasts. In fact I only met James Lambert by chance after he had posted he'd be wearing an Elfin shirt. A chap with an Elfin shirt walked past loaded with camera gear, as I stood on the punter side of the fence at turn 4 and when he walked back I asked if he was indeed the man. Fortunately to save embarrassment it was indeed him. This led to young Harry (his son) joining me as James played cameraman on the 'other' side of the fence. It actually meant I had two future Elfin and Nota drivers (and maybe even TNF members) as Benny Medley stood to my other side as his ever so restrained father, John played in his Nota.
Meeting James Lambert later led to meeting James Calder, havingI introduced the former to Mr Medley. Great chats were had by all. Including James Calder explaining a bit more above the Mal Simpson collection thread that appears as a recent standout on TNF. All I'm going to say is that it was interesting how he found it.
Phillip island Classic, is as ever a shifting sands event in what will turn up. But never a disappointment. As time permits I will try to load a few of my snaps from the wrong side of the fence for those enjoying a comfortable chair in the UK, NZ or USA (or rest of the world perhaps).

Hill and Stewart sat here... my favourite car from this year's meeting. With Andrew Wareing bringing P261 / 5 down under again (but 50 odd years on).
