We had dinner with Laurie on Saturday evening, and got the story then. Posting the photo I was going to caption it 'swan song', or some such, but I thought that was bit obtuse. Just goes to show, it is a small world.

Brabham Bt36 #112 are they now allowing front wing tabs in group O?
Rear wings as per period?
Always found it strange how in the period BT30s ran in Grand Prixs ext with wings yet in Australian historics they banned them .

Its not a Group O car, its log booked as Q and would I am sure been invited to run with O. It should really be re-logbooked to P and CAMS matrix puts P with O.

Van Diemen RF82 and a Lotus -- or Lola T200?
Edit: probably wrong... as per usual!

WHEW, one outta two ain't bad!
That's like 40% accurate!

Sunday Event 45 Historirc Touring Cars under 3 litre
Can't be too many of these racing. With lots of V8's at PI this one wins the prize as the quietest on them all. The beautifully prepared 1958 Simca Vedette of Vince Parisi
John Luxmoore Cortina GT taking the less conventional line at turn 4 after missing his braking point. Simon Browning about to slip past.

Sunday Event 44 Group C & A Historic Touring Cars
BMW was the featured marque and Jim Richards, seen here in his 635 (raced in period) was the patron. But in reality their was so many JPS (and the odd B&H) BMWs at this year's event, iin reality t was a Frank Gardner tribute. JR battled hard in his Group C car against more modern Group A GTRs and Sierras. He tried so hard he even had a brake lock up a couple of laps after this snap. I caught the lock up, but it's out of focus... damn it.
In the background of the above photo, Bryan Sala is also in his period race car. The one shown having a moment in Lynton H sequence of photos earlier in this thread.

Yes, Ray you can post the Vedette photo on another forum with credit and perhaps even post a link so it can be found.
It's listed in the programme as Nb class.

Now that is class!
Undoubtedly it didn't have the Explanada cylinder heads, which would have made it Nb I guess. Quite apart from cheating, but wouldn't it be worth it?
Stephen, can I post this pic on another (very suitable) forum?
A Vedette and a Citroen in one event,,,, The French are coming! A French V860.
IF you spend a fair amount of money it could be a fairly good thing actually for NB. They handled all right and have decent size brakes. Getting power though will be expensive. I am unsure how much different those engines were to the Ford version where there is some performance parts available. I have seen those engines perform well in midgets but overheating is a big issue. They sound quite strong though.
An EH though is a lot cheaper!

Which Bimmer is that? Therre was several. I believe Jim owns/ owned the ex Joe Sommariva GpA car that started I believe as a GpC.
If so it has had some very big hits.
Roddy has had that Jag a long time, I raced against it in the 90s as a Sports Sedan.

Jim was racing the either the first or second Group C car, which is not one of his collection. This is the 1983 Bathurst car (still has a plug in the roof for the 'periscope' camera). He owns a Group A 635 and M3.
The Jag isn't the one that Mike Roddy raced as a sports sedan. This is both the Bathurst and Spa winning car that Mike bought from the UK a few years back. There's a story in Australian Muscle Car some time back.

Laurie Bennett leads Richard Carter in Elfin's 600 & Mono respectively. Both battled for each of their races' lead all weekend.
