Doug, there is a whole blog which he mentioned back in 2011. He has some lovely shots from Rest and Be Thankful including a couple of super shots of 3011, as well as F1 stuff. Check on the threads he has been involved with. I cannot post a link, sorry.

Thanks for your comments Roger, I haven't been on TNF for a couple of years.I didn't think my post would be remembered.  This shows the Tojiero on transporter and Cooper Monaco (I believe) in foreground You can click on the britracing at end of my post.

Check out Kent's blog, going on each heading. The lovely period Rest and be Thankful shots are lower down the page on the link to the Vanderbilt Cup races. We have seen them before in 2011, but warrant a further look. Btw the shot of 3011 in the paddock looks good converted into black and white imho.

I remember, at Goodwood, watching from the inside at Woodcote when Stewart spun the Tojeiro 360 degrees, catch it, gather it all up and carry on - I think it was Easter '64, the day I went in in the boot of Bob Sparshott's cousin's MG Magnette (I was broke).

Roger, is this what you refer to as 3011?  a Maserati 6C or maybe 8C with duel rear wheels  from the then Doune Museum.

That's the one - Maserati 8CM chassis 3011, bought new by Whitney Straight in 1934, then raced by many others over the years, notably Prince Bira. It's the subject of its own book by DSJ. There's a brief history of the car below the photo on this page:

Kento11, I used to be a sign painter, lettered over 500 race cars 1976-1991.

Grumbacher 1" grey squirrel flat was my "number brush" on most. Still have it (the 4th or so), in fact it rests a foot below my feet at the moment, astride my One-Shot (just in case, we live on the road).

Duncan was an artist and sign painter.  He lived in Troon and painted Jackie Stewarts first tartan trim on his helmet. for , I think 1964 F-3 Monaco..  We hitchhiked up and down Britain to watch races.
