From Classic Sports Racing Group in California

"Fred Cziska

(Sept.2, 1941-Oct. 4, 2016)

It is with great sadness that I inform you that Fred Cziska has died after suffering from a pulmonary incident on Friday, September 30.

Fred was a force in vintage car racing and a great supporter of vintage racing in general and CSRG in particular. He was part of the fabric of vintage racing and things will not be the same without him.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Fred's family,  friends and the entire racing community.

Sincerely,

Locke de Bretteville"

From Ian Wood

"...on track Friday at Sears Point on the first lap of practise...went into the wall....Big loss to Can Am and racing..."

Fred always seemed friendly and laid back whenever I talked to him.  If you search google for "Fred Cziska" and "Shadow", you will find many links to his Shadow collection.

Oh no, what a tragic end for someone having the time of his life.

Not much of a consolation of course, but at least he went out with his boots on.

RIP.

From my understanding:

Fred Cziska had this accident due to a heart attack.

Posted on fb on oct. 6th:

Fred Cziska passed last night from heart attack complications that occurred last weekend while racing his Shadow at Sonoma. He was a very competitive "tough guy" with a big heart who will be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Terry and family.

Sorry to hear this-he was a real enthusiast.

Vince,  I have this feeling that I sold him my Elva front engined Junior in 1983/84 for his son to drive.  May be wrong...
