I would like to know more about a meeting held at Avignon in 1947 than the following:
"..starting money had to be increased for Parisian Jean Ondet to get him to loan his Amilcar to Maurice Trintignant.."
Trintignant won (his class??) on that car.

I've also read the story about Ondet. The organisers of the race had loaned the Amilcar to Jean Ondet for Trintignant.
The Avignon circuit was above all for motorbike races. But in 1947 a racing car was added in the event.
Date: 20 April 1947, GP d'Avignon
Length of the circuit: 2.310 km
Race for little capacity (1100 cc with or without supercharger) and maximum 12 starters (restriction imposed by the ACF, due to the short length of the circuit).
Results:
1- Maurice Trintignant Amilcar C6 MCO 1,1 L #9
2- Alain Brault Simca Gordini 8 spéciale
FL- Paul Bodet, 1 min 42 sec, 81.529 kph
Other entries:
Paul Bodet, from Paris, Maserati #2 (a long time second, did the fastest lap but had ignition's problems and regressed)
T.A.S.O. Mathieson Simca Gordini
one Singer
one EB (a Special)
one RM (another Special)
one BR (yet a Special again)
2 other Amilcars
Organiser: the Automobile Club Vauclusien, including in his members some of the Moto Club Vauclusien.
Since 1989 the Avignon circuit is revived for historic races, in motorbike as well as racing car.
