I was surprised to see a picture of this white

car with the painting of Evita on the bonnet

I was wondering if it was actually sponsored by her; owned by her,

or it was just a driver (actress Jacqueline Evans de Lopez) paying tribute to her heroine? (she was quite a looker, kind of like  a film noir heroine in the shot on Pinterest)

Did the car have a four cam Also does it survive to this day?

I think when Gen. Peron left, he didn't take any of his cars with him, though he did take Evita, in a coffin...

I've read that Jacqueline Evans de Lopez was friends with Eva Peron when the latter was an actress as well. The Evita car was a tribute to her.

Not sure how reliable this information is.

Since the works cars used pushrod engines for reliability it is unlikely that Jacqueline Evans de Lopez's car was a 4-cam.

A Google search came up with http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1953-carrera-panamericana-photos-200-by-ralph-morse-in-life-mag-archive.470665/

Interesting information from post 8 onwards.

This gives a possible whereabouts of the car in 2006.

Has he covered the 1954-edition of the Carrera Panamericana as well?

I think when Gen. Peron left, he didn't take any of his cars with him, though he did take Evita, in a coffin...

He did not. The corpse was stolen from him and her family by the miliraty gang that made the coup. The corpse was secretly introduced in Italy and buried near Milan. It was returned to PerĂ³n in 1972, when he was living in Madrid, as part of a negotiation to allow the general to return to the country. It's the theme of an awesome short story written by Rodolfo Walsh and called "Esa mujer".
