R.I.P. Does anyone know if he worked together with Heini Mader?

Back in June, I interviewed Marc Surer. I had planned on uploading the interview imminently anyway, but have brought it forward due to what Surer said about Rosche in the interview which I think sums it up better than I could say myself - in short, BMW's mammoth success since the mid 1970's was largely down to that one amazing man. RIP Paul.

RJ: You joined BMW in 1977 and have been involved with them ever since. What do, in your opinion, BMW do so well that has made them so successful?
MS: It’s like every successful company, it’s the people. For me, especially when I was driving, it was down to Paul Rosche. Rosche was the driving force and you know, he was producing superb engines that he didn’t have the budget for as it were, and this brought success and it lifts everyone up. You always need someone to be a driving force to be a successful company.

I owned 3 of the cars that had his engine master-pieces: 2x M1, 1x M3 and had the privelage to drive more than 20 times the iconic McLaren F1 owned by a family member. What an engine!!
He was truly a great engineer.
May he rest in peace!

The things he did with the 2 litre engine were amazing, and the 1.5 litre turbo will go down in history as one of the most remarkable F1 engines of that era.
THe M3 engine always has been a gem
