Word reached us last night that Team Lotus stalwart Eddie Dennis had passed away after a long illness. Eddie was Jochen's mechanic in 1969 and 1970 and stayed at Lotus all through the 72 years and beyond. In fact, I asked him on a couple of occasions if he would let me interview him on camera for my Lotus 72 TV documentary but he always said 'no', he didn't want to appear on the telly. I do know that he gave Michael Oliver invaluable help with his Lotus 72 book, for starters. Another link with Team Lotus' glory days has gone, RIP Eddie.
