Oh, that is sad.

His name was Legend in F-Atlantic paddocks in the States, the motor to have.

RIP. :-(

All those, including Mr Nicholson, who took part in the Race of Champions meetings twixt '73 and '75 were absolute hero's to this teenager, his successful buisiness on the motive side of the sport and aviation and participation in power boating also became clearer to me as the years rolled by.

Condolences to Mr Nicholson's family, friends and fellow fans.

sad news indeed.

besides being an engine builder, he also knew how to get around a race track.......

Oh, I'm sad to hear that. I happened to chat to a lady working for Nicholson McLaren at Goodwood this summer and she said he is not involved in the everyday running of the company anymore as "he is an old boy now" but still visits them from time to time. I didn't realize he had moved back to NZ.

A great engineer and a quick driver too. What he achieved as a businessman at NME was no small achievement either. RIP John.

I must admit to not knowing much about him, but this is very sad - R.I.P. to a man who seems to have enjoyed a life of multiple interests and talents.

This is a very good obituary on John. Recommended.

He certainly was a man of many talents and interests
