Just to let you know that my dad died today. He was 93.
I know that many people at this forum remember him and his rallying and endurance achievements so I thought that you'd want to know. My brother Colin, my sister Carol, my stepmother Kathy and I are all crying tonight.
Thank you for remembering him.

My condolences, Jackie. 93 is a damn fine innings for the man who went a damn long way.
That birth date of July 23rd 1924 means that your father was born exactly a year to the day after mine. He passed away in 1985 ...

I always look back with a wry smile at the spotlamp covers your father used on the Cortina, padded covers with ears, embroidered to look like a cat's face. Just brilliant.
My condolences. He was a fine sportsman.

She's been gone for almost two and a half years, they are a generation quickly disappearing and it's so sad that this is true.
With Eric Jackson, it's clear that he was a man who accepted a challenge with anticipation and intelligence. What a journey his life was, and how much we appreciate your efforts to make us more aware and even simply remind us of his great achievements.
Please accept my condolences, and please keep telling us the stories that your father brought to life.

Sorry to hear this news, condolences to all family.
I'd guess you will have many good memories of him. I remember his rallying & the Corsair v Ship in mid 1960's.
My pal at the time collecting a Mk1 Lotus from him around 1966/7, it was an early car but had been uprated to look like the airflow model and we did thousands of miles in it, all I recall was the BOO registration but no numbers. I think it might have been given to him by Ford around the time.
Later we both had other Mk1 Lotus but none as quick as BOO.
