I was reading the Times today very quickly when I saw that Wilkie Wilkinson had passed away aged 97 - shame he did not make the ton.

Excellent obituary! And nice picture. Thank you Vitesse. Wilkinson's relationship with Parnell is very funnily described in Gould's book on Parnell.

What a shame to hear this! From what I have read, he was a very good guy and someone who seemed to really like my hometown hero Masten Gregory. At least he lived a good long life.

I had recently purchased his biography but had not the chance to read it yet ... must find the time.
