There has been another thread about the 6 wheel-Lagonda.
I was wondering about the 6 wheel-Williams F1 car. I know they build on , even saw pictures ones. Does anybody know more about it or better can anyone post a picture of it. Were there any other 6 wheel F1 cars built or planned ? I can imagine that teams considered it since the Tyrrell 6 wheeler was a racewinner in the hands of Jody Scheckter & Patrick Depailler (double @ Anderstorp!)

Keke Rosberg extensively tested an adapted FW08C to six wheel spec in 83 (I think). Can't actually recall why they didn't race it, maybe because the FIA stepped in & said that cars could only have 4 wheels?

There's a pic of it in this thread, as well as a link further down to a page with other 6-wheelers (not to mention an assortement of other odd F1 cars ;)

the car was actually used by Williams and Goodyear to do tire testing. It did extensive running at Daytona, Florida.

IIRC, The FW08 six-wheeler won the Goodwood hill climb with Jonathan Palmer on board. Twice, I think.
