I have to admit that I'm no Maserati specialist, I have various sources (incl. Don's Corktree Case History) saying # 29 had been sold to Fisauli in 1929, other sources say it's a 1927 car (without mentioning Fisauli at that date already). Telaio order of the 26 is somewhat confusing, no. 29 to 35 are shown as 1929 cars, no. 26 as 1927, but no. 20 again as 1929.
So if Fisauli bought the car in 1929, how could he enter it for 1928 events? Is it possible that he bought it in fact 1927 or 1928? or did he own another 26 before?

Haven't got time to delve into all my Maserati records at the moment, but I suspect some of the out-of-sequence numbering can be explained by the fact that the brothers were building cars with several different engines. A car may have started life with an 1100 engine, or as a 1500 sportscar, then been re-engined as a GP car, appearing on people's chassis-number lists only then.
Fisauli may have had one car in 1928 and anothr in 1929. Or he may have taken delivery of No.26 in the first year, but not been invoiced for it till later.
