I've received the following request - can anyone help?

-------------

I noticed your complete listing of the results of the 1965 Daytona Continental. I wondered if you could point me in the direction to find more information about the car that finished 12th in that race (a Sunbeam Tiger driven by Bolton & Latté). (Do you know if someone still has an entry application or something similar?)
(I'd at least like to find out who the owner was and where he was located.)

Thanks!

I tried the specific word combination " Sunbeam Tiger Bolton " in Google and got quite a number of hits.

Thanks for the hint. I have found a Peter Bolton who is president of the Manx Motor Racing Club, so I've sent them an e-mail.

The racing Peter Bolton did indeed retire to the Isle of Man several years ago

Peter Bolton has died, according to the BRDC.

Have you seen this webpage?

http://www.classicti...impes/car17.htm

One of the drivers was apparently Arthur M. Latta. Apparently he drove a Turner in the early 60s, and co-drove a Cobra at Sebring in 1966. He seems to have raced in Florida, so I presume he was from there. I found a couple of contact listings for A.M. Latta in Florida.

But was the other driver Donald Bolton or Peter Bolton? I couldn't find anything on a Donald Bolton racing.

I noticed that "Don Bolton" co-drove with Arthur Latta at Sebring in prior years. Also, Don Bolton drove a Sunbeam Alpine with Jerry Morgan and Bill Buchman at the Continental the previous year. I would guess it more likely it was Don Bolton who drove the Tiger with Latta based on previous events/relationships.

Last year I exchanged mail with Don Bolton.... yes, it was Don who drove at Daytona in the Tiger in 1965 with Arthur M. Latta as the co-driver.
It was interesting to hear his perspective on the race.

I'd need to look at my notes but neither actually owned the Tiger. It was part of the dealership/repair shop that Don worked. According to Don when he left the shop to open his own shop it was still on the dealer's floor.

Arthur Latta passed away in the early 80's. Arthur's family was from Vero Beach, one of the early families in the area, and there is a Botanical Garden which
his family owned at one time (part of the estate?)
