For Group 8 we have an interesting quartet of drivers. Two long time campaigners who enjoyed muted success and two more "what ifs" both cruelly snuffed out when it was all coming good for them. They are;

1.Ricardo Rodriguez
2.Thierry Boutsen
3.Gunnar Nillson
4.Jochen Mass

As always, im interested in your thoughts.

Gunnar gets my vote, probably for emotional reasons. Boutsen was also very good, one of the most underrated drivers of the 80's

This group is VERY tight (it's 3/2/2/2 right now!). My vote went to Boutsen, he outdrove Patrese in the Williams and that is impressive. I don't know much about Ricardo, but i think he might win this one. Or maybe Gunnar, or maybe even Mass... it's very open!

Very tough - I went for Rodriguez on potential - a very dangerous method, methinks!

I assumed Mass had this one sewn up so I went for Nilsson to help him into second place. So much for my judgement! Mass is trailing in fourth at the moment. Such an excellent driver outside F1 and a GP winner - how can he be fourth?! :confused:

BTW, this is whole thing an excellent idea. Well done redliner.

Thierry Boutsen of course.
Three top class GP wins: Canada 89, Adelaide 89, Hungary 90.
And almost winning the San Marino GP in an Arrows! :eek:

Hardest group to decide so far. But successes of Mass in endurance racing decided for me. I would like to see Boutsen through too, but I wouldn't mind if anyone from this group goes further...
