Press statement from Audi:

On October 23rd 2002, the 100th birthday of Auto Union's Robert Eberan von Eberhorst, a commemorative event will take place at the University of Applied Sciences at Zwickau. Amongst others, Peter Kirchberg and Wolfgang Ullrich will attend. Also, the Auto Union Typ C can be seen on display at the August Horch Museum. It's the first time since the war that an Auto Union racecar returns to the Zwickau factory grounds.

There'll be an R8 too, but that's new stuff, so who cares

And, to complete this message, two pictures:

Very nice pics Brun, I think you'll stay in Zwickau for this event?

May you'll bring as much printed brochures home, as possible?

Thanks for the tip.

I have seen it, okay than an event without spectators, real spectators – like you an me, but they'll find enough in town. May you know somebody in Chemnitz who’ll have a look for us?

I’ll post my source that evening about those internal documents.

It´s Kurt Baum´s Eigenbau-BMW, the very first Formula 2 car built in the GDR!

And that car behind? Very hard to recognize... Could it be an AFM? Or indeed the EMW monoposto? Brun, do you have something like a programme of that event?

A great collection of cars of Saxonian / Thuringian origin!

So the car should be indeed the EMW monoposto. Did not know, that it still exists!

No. 211 is of course Rudi Krause´s Reif-BMW.

Pity that I´ve missed it! Would be really interesting to see a programme of that event to see who are the current owners of the cars.

Brun, must be an big university event. May we need the speeches? And we have to asked them about one of the last constructions of Eberan-Eberhorst for the old Auto Union. And where it is now? Dresden or Leipzig?

Holger, where did you get this?

Don't know if we can use the speeches - and we have to get them first, because I won't be able to make it to Zwickau and I don't know anyone who is...
