So why not take a look into the future instead?
And make a little competition out of it?
I can hear you all saying "Yes! Great idea Mak!" now
Oh golly, this sounds exciting! How do I enter?
You just post a reply to this thread with what you think will be the driving pairings that each of the at most twelve teams will present for the first GP of 2004!
Please try to be clear about the drivers' names; I might not have heard of some rookies that you have listed, so a full name for new drivers (and other drivers that are easy to mix up otherwise too) would be appreciated. You don't have to list more teams than you think that there will be around in 2004.
I want points! There's no point in having a competition if you don't score points!
-You will score five points for each driver that you have put in the right team.
-If a driver you have listed in one team drives for another one, you will score two points for him/her.
-If a driver that you have listed won't be driving for any team, you will score 0 points for that driver, unless the driver in question would have raced for some team but is "temporarily unavailable" due to injury or ban.
-If you happen to put the same driver in several teams, you will only score points for the best guess of those.
-If you don't list twelve teams, you will score points for the missing seats if there aren't twelve teams around in 2004. Five points/driver if the team you left out is missing, two points/driver if there's another team missing.
-You can also guess for an UNKNOWN driver (with no given name) taking a seat in a team. The meaning of "unknown" here is that the driver hasn't been mentioned in any other entry for this competition. The unknown driver can only give you points if he/she is in that very team where you have guessed for an unknown.
Are there any awards?
Eternal glory and bragging rights if you manage to beat someone.
Also note that this competition is nowhere near being included in any silly Supercup thingy...
When is the deadline?
In order to get the entries within a reasonably short time span, the competition is open for entries and edits approximately until November ends, CET.
And here are my guesses:
Ferrari: M Schumacher Barrichello Williams: Montoya Villeneuve McLaren: Räikkönen Coulthard Renault: Trulli Alonso Sauber: Heidfeld Heikki Kovalainen Jordan: Fisichella Massa BAR: Button Justin Wilson Jaguar: Webber Ralf Schumacher Minardi: Verstappen Björn Wirdheim Toyota: Panis Sato
A few wild guesses and a whole lot of wishful thinking for sure! Though I assume Arrows won't be around anymore :
A note for those who entered the 2003 competition: I'm terribly sorry that the results aren't up yet, but it appears that the first race of 2003 will not be run in over four months yet! Those lazy bastards in F1
