Why-aye!
As TNF seems to be the place to sort out the weirdest requests, I challenge you all on this one:
A Finn called Jari Nurminen tested Arrows (if I remember correctly) in 1986. Afterwards he went to compete a couple of seasons in F3000 without notable success. Would anyone be able to share pictures of this test?

Keep glued to the screen...

I would have sworn that I had a colour one...I might have just figured it out.
Anyway, here´s your picture, enlarged from a really tiny piece that I found.
I still think that Rainer will come to the rescue

Sorry guys, I have disappoint you, the picture Felix is posting is the same that I've got, but possibly from a different source. It is not of any better quality either...
I do also have some videotape from the same Donington Park test session storaged somewhere...

Not such a flying Finn was Jari! he drove for Magnum at the begining of 85 in F3 also I beleive.. he also ran in Italian F3 with Venturini alongside Apicella IIRC - they then used his big bucks to move up to F3000 by amalgamating with former F1 team Euroracing... unfortunately the Dallara F3000 car theyr an was described as a "bus"... I think at one stage Jari was linked with the 2nd Coloni F1 seat for 1988 however this failed to materialise.

Whoah!
Thanks Felix, an amazing achievement. Shame about the quality though. Anyway, this was a nice Friday-morning teaser trivia for a couple of my friends: name the car, year, track and driver
Now, asking for pictures on Markku "Maximum Attack" Alén testing F1 should be a piece of cake, compared to this Why do I seem to remember, he too was testing an Arrows at around the same time. Perhaps I'm wrong though.

Jari Nurminen in his Barclay Arrows Racing Outfit.
This was a press shot for what was thought to be Jari's entry into Formula One. He wasn't granted a Super License and this deal fell through at the last moment.

A while ago, I emailed him about his F3000 career but then I asked him a question about F1:
A completely off-topic question, have you ever been involved in Formula One? I seem to recall you taking part in a test session at Donington in 1986. Was there any more tests?
The same year I also tested F1 in Belgium
In 86 I drove a lot more tests for Arrows BMW aswell
Arrows also offered me a spot as a race car driver for 1987, but I didn't find the funding for it so I couldn't go along
I had a signed a year long contract with Coloni for Formula 1 -racing for 1988, but it was later scrambled because the Finnish AKK didn't support me for a F1 Superlicense.

I do have a colour photo of him in the Arrows, but it's not mine, just something I found on the net a while ago and I'm quite unsure about the copyright, so if someone is interested, please just drop me a PM and I'll send the link.
