Hello there
....a few pictures i have already scanned (sorry for the bad quality)
I know the drivers ,cars and events already but i thought some of you might have fun seeing and researching some facts ....maybe someone has been at one of the races as well and knows a story
about it....
i wonder if somebody knows the motorcycle driver #143 (pic no 15)....
all members of the www.nurburgring.de forum are banned from this quiz ;)

Wrong hat and wrong colour car for Jo... well, for that Jo...

But there are two up the top... a wrecked Fiat or Fiat Abarth and a Porsche.
Bonnier
Mike Parkes, I think, in the Ferrari.
Phil Hill in the Chaparral
I have no idea about the Ford GT
Maybe that's not Surtees, either, perhaps Bandini?
As for the Lotus, which is not F2... the name's just not coming to me.
And the wreck's not a Brabham.
Olivier Gendebien in the open top Ford... I think
I feel I should know the Cobra, maybe Bondurant?
Not a clue with the orange 906
Jim Clark running away with the 1000km race in the Lotus 23
Siffert in Rob Walker/Jack Durlacher Lotus 49

Bandini also had a stripe over his hat... and his hat was silver. Hard to say, really, but that does look like a peak on the hat too... not very Surtees looking at all.

Don't worry about Ligier, it's Bonner.

The Fiat is an Abarth variant, note the struts holding the engine cover open?

The #12 Ferrari is the NART Dino 206, not a P3. Since it was driven in 66 by Pedro & Ritchie Ginther, I reckon that's Pedro.

The #10 open Ford GT is being driven by Richard Attwood

The #17 Cooper is JoBo, of course.

The #12 Ferrari Dino is driven here by Pedro Rodriguez, that's for sure.
The Ferrari #10 is driven by Mike Parkes.
The Ford GT40 "Convertible" is driven by Attwood.
The Porsche is a Carrera 6 and the driver seems to be Udo Schutz

THe Ford GT (number 140 is Phil Hill or Bruce McLaren in the car's forst race. Almost certainly Hill if it's a race shot as McLaren drove only briefly before retirement.

The crashed single-seater is fascinating - looks rather broad in the beam but from the look of the suspension is this Bruce McLaren's Cooper after his crash in the 1963 German GP, from which he was retrieved unconscious? Hmmm - interesting picture....

The roll hoop put me off that one, Doug...

Also, it doesn't appear to be a V8 at all. The car is rather like a 1962-build 1960 car, if you know what I mean. Chubbier than its suspension reckons it should be...

1. Jo Bonnier, Cooper T81 (F1/5/66) - Maserati Tipo 9, 1966
2. Mike Parkes, Ferrari 312( 012), 1966
3. Phil Hill, Chaparral 2F (002) - Chevrolet, 1967
4. Phil Hill/ Bruce McLaren, Ford GT40 (102), 1964
5. Pedro Rodriguez, Ferrari Dino 206S (008), 1966
6. Chris Amon, Parnell Lotus 25 (R&) BRM P56, 1965
7. It is very possible that Doug is correct that this is the Cooper (F1/4/63) that Bruce McLaren wrote off during the 1963 GP, but....
8. John Whitmore/ Richard Attwood, Ford GT40 Roadster (112), 1965
9. Bob Bondurant, Shelby American Cobra (CSX ), practice hack, 1965
10/11. If from 1966, probably the Porsche 906 Carrera 6 (121) of Udo Schutz & Gunther Klass
12. Jim Clark, Lotus 23 - Ford, 1962
13. Seppi Siffert, Lotus 49 (R7) - Ford DFV
14. Too many options.... Either in the early '50s before the 'dustbin bodies' arrived in GP or a local event at about any time up to the mid-60s....

Regarding the crashed single seater: the car in the picture has rear radius arms which the 1963 Cooper didn't have. Also the shape of the tail looks wrong; the Cooper was cut off over the gearbox with a small spoiler. The shape of the tail looks most like a Mk3 Lola

No, it's not Bruce McLaren... he never wore a helmet that colour at all.

Nor did he drive a 25/33...

I've still got a notion it's not Chris Amon, however... when are we going to get the answers anyway?

As David says, it certainly is not Bruce McLaren! I couldn't recall if it was R3 or R7 that Amon was driving, but probably R7.

As for the picture of Bob Bondurant taken during practice for the 1965 1000 Km race, the chassis no. for that Cobra seems to not be recorded anywhere I've looked. There is a choice of several to choose from, but I couldn't find anything definitely identifying it -- I didn't do an 'exhaustive' search, but none of the Usual Sources mentioned the chassis number.

I still believe it,s Bruce McLAREN---- If you look at the photo he has foam behind his back
to position himself better because it,s not his CAR ,my guess it was in private practice.

I see your point, eldougo
It does look a bit like B McL, but more like Chris, I think.
The padding could be because Chris is in Hailwood's car?

Amon was to have driven Ian Raby's Brabham BRM but took over Innes Ireland's Parnell Lotus at short notice, when the Scot's father died. I guess the padding could have been because the cockpit was tailored for Ireland.

As I pointed out, this was the "mule" or practice "hack" that those on the Shelby team used during practice for the race. Perhpas the other pictures are were taken during practice as well.

Indeed... and some more news...

On a thread in the Paddock Club somebody mentioned an adaptor to scan slides with a normal scanner sold by Innovations! I'll be looking out for their catalogue, but it's unlikely to be very dear coming from them... and of course, it doesn't have any of the hi-tech stuff in it, that's all in the scanner itself.
