Just been re-reading "Faster!", Jackie Stewart's diary of the 1970 season, and I came across this passage:
"All this suggests that a car is very much like a woman ... Cornering is like bringing a woman to a climax. The two of you, both you and the car, must work together. You start to enter the area of excitement of that corner, you set up a pace which is right for the car, and ... you guide it through at a rhythm which has now become natural."
It's Swiss Toni!

Funny that...
I remember Frank Matich saying something broadly similar. He didn't relate it to the climax, but the overtone was much the same. Joan was also within earshot... maybe that's why he toned it down?

Maybe that's another reason Frank was restrained...

Driving a Grand prix car is like making love to a beautiful woman. You have to get your helmet comfortable, slip inside, get your angles right and push hard when you have a clear run, while making sure you don't leak lubricant.
just wondering whether this will be considered offensive...oh what the heck, no more so than Joey Gudjonsson's knee amputation technique...
