A new season, a new game:
With the new regs, there are three competitive sessions, and with it, three fastest times to be set. All you have to do is predict, to the nearest 1/1000s, the fastest times in Friday Qualifying, Saturday Qualifying and the fastest lap of the Race (no driver prediction needed). The difference between your predictions and the actual times set will be added to give your score. Obviously, lowest score wins. The scores will be averaged over the season to give the winner, with entries to at least 8 races needed to win the season-long game. Good luck!

Oh, by the way, entries for the Australian GP close at the start of Friday qualifying, so get them in fast...

Additional: thanks to Makarias for his excellent suggestion, which I will adopt. The best 8 races for each competitor will count for the season-long competition, and scores will still be expressed as an average over the races counted. I will also post results for each individual race soon after it finishes.

This first GP will probably be trickier to predict than the following races. Likewise for weekends where there is rain; someone not entering the competition then gets an advantage.

Therefore I think it would be the fairest if only the best eight (or whatever) races for each participant would count. Just a suggestion. :)

One more thing: in order not to give an unfair advantage to anyone who sees the practice session before qualifying and then enters the competition, I have decided to change the closing time for this competition to the start of today's practice session at midnight GMT. Thanks for the positive response so far! I love the start of the season...

OK, the practice session has begun, so all predictions are now locked. Look out for the results to be posted on Monday. Good luck!
