Collisions between team-mates often raise a certain amount of
controversy. I do not clearly remember how this one between
Tyrell's Streiff and Palmer happened:

Obviously it took place at Spa, between Kemmel and Les Combes,
maybe during Lap 1. However it seems a bit far away from the
braking point. Was there any mechanical failure on one car ?
And did this accident affect a lot the relationship between Streiff
and Palmer ?
How did that happen

From Grandprix.com - '87 Belgium GP report
Seemed a pretty scaring shunt. No fault of Palmer on it.
Too bad that Streiff wouldn't be so lucky in Rio, two years later. He's still in a whellchair.
At the start of the second lap Philippe Streiff lost control of his Tyrrell at Raidillon and smashed into the barriers, the impact tearing the engine from the car. Jonathan Palmer then arrived on the scene in the second Tyrrell and smashed into the wreck of Streiff's car. The race was stopped but both men were unhurt, although the Tyrrell team's cars were demolished.

Streiff also had a collision with his team mate a lap from the finish of the 1985 Australian GP...
They only survived it because there was nobody behind them still unlapped, as I recall.

Yeah, and for the record, both Laffitte and Streiff finished on the podium in that race!
