Cheers,

I'm looking for photos of a private Lancia Delta S4 Gr.B that raced on the 1986 edition of the Montecarlo Rally. This ex-stradale car was lightly prepared by ex-abarth mechanic Giuseppe Volta and entered by a spanish team , sporting the number 37. This was a semi-private entry as some support was given by the Lancia works team.
This is the only private S4 Gr.B rally car that ever existed and it is currenlty owned by David Sutton's Historic Motorsport Ltd.
Any photos or information about this car are welcome.

Best Regards.

NSMG, I'll check my sources!

And you are well prepared with your strong questions about the id 80s in rallyesport. Compliments.

nsmg,

Ignacio Sunsundegui, a wealthy veteran spanish amateur rally driver, was at the wheel of this private Delta S4, 'though I've not found pictures of the car in this rally. His usual codriver was Larrinaga.

Carles.

PS: After the 1st leg (Classification Run), 43rd o/a
After the 2nd leg (Common Route), 27th o/a
Finish: ???

Cheers,

Jarama , do you have any photos of this S4 racing in spain ?
I'm also looking for a magazine article (road test) of Gustavo Trelles S4 Gr.B that won the Spanish Gravel Rally Chamiponship for several years.

Best Regards.

While Googling for Sunsundegui and his Lancia I came across this thread and I thought I'd post the info I have about its participation in the 1986 Monte.

Codriver is given as Isaez de Buruaga - is Isaez a first name or the first part of the last name?
Sunsundegui retired on the final leg and in accordance with the Monte regulations at the time was classified as 70th.

I haven't got any photos of the car unfortunately.

I had a seat in the car a few weeks ago at David Sutton Motorsport Museum.

Got some current pictures on my home PC, there were a couple of 'on event' pictures on the wall at DSM.

Here are the pics.

NSMG,

I think you are one of the greatest experts on this subject.

Maybe it´s time to publish a book.

Those in favour rise their hands!!
