10 unusual guesses for the Monaco GP
#1
Posted 21 May 2003 - 21:00
1. Who will be 10th on the grid in Monaco?
(Aus: Alonso, Mal: Panis, Bra: Alonso, SM: Panis, Spa: Frentzen, Aut: R. Schumacher)
2. The drivers of which team will have the biggest difference in their grid position (not time, only position)?
(Aus: Toyota, Mal: Williams, Bra: Jaguar, SM: Jaguar, Spa: McLaren, Aut: Renault)
3. Which driver will be the first retirement due to technical reasons in the GP (from start of the race)?
(Aus: Webber, Mal: Coulthard, Bra: Heidfeld, SM: Villeneuve, Spa: Villeneuve, Aut: Verstappen)
4. Which team will be the first with both drivers retired?
(Aus: Toyota, Mal: Jaguar, Bra: Minardi, SM: Minardi, Spa: McLaren, Aut: Sauber)
5. Who will be the last driver to pit during the race?
(Aus: M. Schumacher, Mal: da Matta, Bra: Trulli, SM: Barrichello, Spa: Heidfeld, Aut: Webber)
6. In which lap the fastest lap will be achieved? (tolerance +/-3 to gain a point!)
(Aus: 32 (=after 55% of race), Mal: 45 (=80%), Bra: 46 (=65%), SM: 17 (=27%), Spa: 52 (=80%), Aut: 41 (=58%))
7. Who will finish the race in 9th position?
(Aus: Villeneuve, Mal: Frentzen, Bra: Webber, SM: Panis, Spa: Button, Aut: Pizzonia)
8. How many drivers (including the winner) will finish the race in the same lap as the winner?
(Aus: 10, Mal: 4, Bra: 8, SM: 7, Spa: 4, Aut: 5)
9. How great will be the margin between winner and 2nd? (Give your answer in steps of 5 seconds: 0-5 secs, 5-10 secs, 10-15 secs,...or laps (1 lap, 2 laps,...))
(Aus: 5-10, Mal: 35-40, Bra: 0-5, SM: 0-5, Spa: 5-10, Aut: 0-5)
10. How many laps will all the drivers make in the Monaco GP altogether? (If no one retires and no one is lapped - and everyone is qualified - then the correct answer should be 78x20 = 1560).
(Tolerance +/-10, if nobody guessed correct within tolerance, the closest will gain a bonus-point).
(Aus: 841 (=72,5 %), Mal: 847 (=75,6 %), Bra: 777(= 54,7%), SM: 1102 (=88,9%), Spa: 917 (=70,5%), Aut: 1076 (=75,8%))
Just a few notes:
1. Question 9 needs a five seconds-gap. Answers like 0-10 are wrong in every case!!
2. Consider "none" could be a correct answer to some guesses.
3. Of course you can give any answers you want. But saying for instance BAR will be the first team with both drivers retired and Villeneuve will finish the race on 9th position is not very reasonable.
Deadline: Before start of free practice
Have fun and guess wisely
